Diwali is a famous festival in Hindus. It is the festival of light. Diwali falls in the month of Kartik according to Hindu calendar.This festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm all over India. People start preparing for Diwali few days before. People clean their house,shop, Courtyard etc. Diwali is a traditional festival. on this day Lord Shri Ram along with his wife Sita and brother Lakshman returned to his native place Ayodhya after 14 years. People of Ayodhya welcomed them with lighted oil lamps that is why it is called the festival of light. This festival is symbolises the victory of good over evil. On this occasion people decorate their house by multi coloured bulbs.On the day of Diwali people buy sweets and many beautiful candels, diyaas from market. Adult people and children wear new clothes. People buy toys,crackers,rockets for children. So children enjoy this festival very much. This festival is continued for 5 days. The first day is celebrated "dhantaras".People buy many ornaments on this occasion.The second day is bhoot Chaturdashi. Third day is Diwali. Goddess Lakshmi and Kuber Ji are worshiped on that day. The fourth day is Govardhan puja. On this day Lord Krishna raised Govardhan mountain on his fingers and protect the people from heavy rainfall. On fifth day Bhai Dooj is celebrated. On that day brothers give many gifts to their sisters and sisters pray to God for their brother's long, successful life. Diwali is a festival where people keep hard feelings aside. Try forgetting the problems and enjoy this day with full energy. This festival enriches friendship and brotherhood. So people like this festival very much.
