SARASWATI PUJA paragraph

Saraswati Puja is the greatest festival of Hindus. It is celebrated on Basanta Panchami. Maa Saraswati is considered to be the Goddess of learning and wisdom. she brings blessings of all kinds of knowledge, art,music,speech etc. Ma saraswati is worshiped in schools, colleges and all educational centres. Many people worship Maa Saraswati in their house. On this occasion girls wear yellow sarees and children wear yellow frocks,shirts. Maa Saraswati is also known as the Goddess of books knowledge and education. Everyone further prays to God for better studies. Books are also worshiped on that day. The idol of goddess is decorated by colourful papers and multi coloured bulbs. Maa Saraswati wears yellow or white saree. Lotus is in her hand and she sits on the back of swan.This festival is mainly celebrated by students. They arrange total occasion. Adult people support children to organise this festival. Students offer anjali, flowers at the feet of the Goddess for the blessings. Lamps are lit in front of the idol. After Pooja Prasad is distributed among the students. After that many cultural programs are performed by the students. The next evening the idol of Maa Saraswati Devi is taken for immersion. The students enjoy this festival with great enthusiasm because they organise the whole items of Pooja ceremony by themselves. After the immersion of Maa Saraswati they start waiting for next year Saraswati Puja.
